Mohs surgery combines the systematic surgical removal of a skin cancer with immediate microscopic analysis. Thin layers of skin are evaluated until the last trace of skin cancer has been removed. Only cancerous tissue is removed, minimizing the wound and the scar. Mohs surgery is the most precise method for removing skin cancers and can have up to a 99% cure rate for certain types of skin cancer.
